Teen Programs in September, 2010

ALL ACTIVITES ARE FOR TEENS GRADES 7-12

For all teen programs and activities:

• Register in person or by calling YA Services at 354-5280 ext. 247
• Priority is given to Elmont residents and cardholders
• Registration for  programs begins four weeks before the program’s date
• Registered participants must be present at the time the program is scheduled to begin. We regret that after that time, their place will be given to those on the waiting list.
• If you are unable to attend a program, please call YA Services so your place can be given to a patron on the waiting list.
• Participation in a library program entitles the Elmont Memorial Library to use photographs for publicity purposes.

SEPTEMBER

BACK TO SCHOOL PEDICURE FOR TEENS
Thursday, 2 @ 6:30 p.m.
Get together with your friends and have fun learning how to pedicure, decorate and care for your feet. You will receive a brand new pedicure kit that will include: a foot basin, emery board, pumice block, orangewood stick, nail polish, and nail decoration (rhinestones and decals!).

TEEN ADVISORY GROUP
Saturday, September 11 @ 12 noon
Interested in making a difference at the library? Would you like to help select the types of workshops and programs for teens that we offer? How about helping with the selection of books, music and other materials for teens? If so, drop by and register (if you didn’t already) for our Teen Advisory Group. Help make a difference and let your voice be heard!

CANDY WRAPPER NOTEBOOK WORKSHOP
Tuesday, September 14 @ 6:30 p.m.
The new look for the new school year: decoupage your notebooks and journals with candy wrapper printed paper. One notebook per participant will be provided. Participants can also bring their own notebooks to decoupage.
    
TEEN BOOK CLUB
Thursday, September 23 @ 6:30 p.m.
Join our Teen Book Club. The group will meet once a month (usually the last Thursday of a month).
The first book will be available at time of registration. Refreshments provided.

GET CREATIVE POETRY WORKSHOP
Tuesday, September 28 @ 6:30 p.m. 
For new and improving poets: discover freedom of self-expression through poetry writing!                                        
Learn how to put your feelings and expressions into words while developing your unique voice. Then share your poetry and appreciate the voices around you by participating in our Teen Poetry Café.
The group will meet once a month (usually the last Tuesday of a month)
Refreshments served.
