What is T.A.G.?
T.A.G. is the Elmont Library’s Teen Advisory Group. It’s a group of volunteer members who work with the Young Adult Librarian to improve and enhance the teen library experience for all teens in the community. TAG members suggest teen programs, books, magazines, and advise on how to best meet the needs of teens.
Who should join?
- A student in grades 7-12 who is a resident of the district
- A person with ideas about what young adults need and want in the way of informational, educational and recreational materials and services
- Someone who wants a chance to voice their opinions and have them listened to and acted upon
How often does T.A.G. meet?
Members meet in-person, once a month - usually the first week of a month.
Meetings are normally 1 - 1 1/2 hours long.
Why should I join T. A. G.?
- Looks good on a college or job application
- Earn Community Service hours
- Suggest materials for the library
- Be first to read the new library books and sing up for the upcoming programs
- Meet new people
- There’s always food at meetings!
- It’s fun!

If you think you are interested in becoming a member, please fill out TAG Application and bring it to the EPL Young Adult Services.
