Important Information for Teachers of
Elmont Union Free School District
Class Visits
We welcome and encourage all teachers in our school district to arrange to bring their classes to the library for a visit. Our presentations are tailored to meet the needs of your class and are scheduled as space is available. A library orientation, short tour, age-appropriate storytime and distribution of library cards are all part of our offering. At your request, we will highlight certain collections to meet your curriculum needs. If you would like us to distribute library cards at the time of your visit:
- Please arrange to pick up applications for library cards at the library.
- Send the applications home with your students.
- Parent or legal guardian must fill out and sign the library card application.
- Library card applications must be returned to the library at least two weeks prior to the class visit in order to ensure that library cards are processed in a timely manner.
- It is most helpful if a class list is returned with the library card applications.
Assignment Alerts
Please let us know in advance if your class will be working on a special project to ensure that
we have enough materials available for your students.
To arrange a class visit or notify us about an upcoming assignment, send an e-mail to kguidal@elmontlibrary.org
or call the Children’s Room at 516-354-5280, extension 1005.
Thank you.
